Today is the 29th of February, how often do we get to say that? Happy 10th birthday to that 40 year old leapling. To celebrate this once-in-4years moment, I’d be hitting you with a trivia list…
1, Did you know that people born on February 29th are called ‘leaplings or leapers. And they usually celebrate their birthdays on February 28th or in some situations March 1st.
2, Did you know in Ireland and Britain, it is a tradition that women may propose marriage only in leap years (what you waiting for?) to make this more interesting, if the man refuses the proposal, he is meant to pay a fine….. OK now SERIOUSLY, what are you waiting for?
3, Did you know there is a roughly 1 in 1,461 chance of being born naturally on leap day
4, Did you know It is bad luck to get married in a leap year (Ok I don’t believe this one because I got hitched in 2012 and nothing spoil)
5, Did you know century years that are not evenly divisible by 400 are not leap years.
Here is my #ThrowBackToLastLeapyear (pictures taken of me between the previous leap year and now) Cheers to the next! Happy 29th!!!!
